A few of her things get left behind in his mad rush to get her to Wilf and her mum. A mostly empty suitcase, her favorite striped bag, and her enormous hat box. The hatbox for the planet of hats that he would never get to show her. The box and the bags stay in the control room for weeks after she’s gone. He doesn’t have the heart to move them and he hasn’t gathered the strength to return them yet. Sometimes, while the TARDIS spins through space, he looks at them and imagines the times they would have had. The adventures they should have had. The Doctor and his brilliant, wonderful Donna.
